5 Hot, Must-Have Gifts for the Music Lover

Written by: Carsten Luth

5) The Moog Guitar

Although this one isn’t exactly a cheap gift, if you want to give someone a gift they’ll never forget this is the one. The Moog guitar isn’t like other guitars; it’s much better. With unique modes unavailable on the conventional guitar like mute mode and full sustain mode, the Moog guitar can manipulate the strings themselves, eliminating the need for a synthesizer. Although hardcore guitarists manage to find problems with it, you won’t be dissatisfied; that is if you’re willing to drop the $6495 for it.

4) The Pioneer CDJ-400

Have you ever wanted to be a DJ? This device by Pioneer Electronics allows you to not only add effects like that of a vinyl scratching and other special effects, but there is also a USB port which allows you to move your creations to MP3 player or your computer. Pioneer is considered the leader of CDJ devices and the CDJ-400 is considered the most realistic “scratching” you can get. Once again, this one isn’t cheap at $860, but it is very well regarded as a great piece of technology.

3) The Logitech Freepulse Wireless Headphones

This product is a must have! Personally, I am a big fan of Logitech products; I never have problems with them and they are fantastic quality. While it can hurt your ears after extended use, but they deliver good quality and are relatively durable. They have some interesting features like being able to change volume by simply pressing the side of the headphone. Best of all, there are no pesky cords so they are WAY better than the white headphones Apple gives you with the iPod. Most people would agree: fantastic quality, horrible fit. I honestly hope that Logitech comes out with headphones meant for the human head in the future, but until then we’ll have to settle with the ones on the market right now. You can buy them from Logitech for $99.

What would a list of music lover’s gifts be without an iPod product? It seems like everyone has an iPod today, and the perfect way to enjoy it (other than having tons of 2 in 1 headphone splitters), is to get an iTrip. This product came out a few years ago (2006), but is still considered top quality. The iTrip allows you to search for an FM station on your radio and it transmits your music to play on that station. This works especially well with a couple of vehicles traveling together; the signal lasts up to 30 feet. Although it’s been discontinued, you can still find them on amazon.com and other stores like it. Approx value: $30.

sb-m1000-large1) The Roku Soundbridge

This is the ultimate product for music lovers! With the modestly priced Roku device, you can receive music from your iTunes anywhere in your house! But wait, there’s more! Not only can you listen to your iTunes using your wireless internet, but you can also get thousands of internet radio stations. This means you can get live radio from all over the world, all for free! The Soundbridge is expensive at $199.99, but well worth it.
